Backend Engineer

An intelligent energy marketplace helping UK SMEs cut their energy costs, combining smart-meter analytics, group buying and live supplier auctions. The team is inside its first ten hires, so everyone owns outcomes rather than tasks. Half of this role is product engineering, half is making sure the plumbing works.

• Core backend API services in FastAPI and Python
• Integrations with CRM, e-signature and supplier data feeds
• Smart meter ingestion and processing pipelines
• PostgreSQL schema and query performance
• Deployment and monitoring on AWS

• 1–3 years backend or full stack
• Solid Python, ideally FastAPI
• Real PostgreSQL and SQL depth
• Genuine third-party integration troubleshooting
• Comfort working directly with non-technical colleagues
