Lead Platform Engineer

A seed-stage company building an AI system of action for property management and lettings. This is the Head of Engineering's technical second in command: you build the hardest parts of the platform, own major architecture decisions, lead delivery and manage remote engineers, while remaining one of the strongest hands-on builders in the team.

• Architect and build scalable backend systems and APIs, design through production
• Microservice and event-driven architectures supporting real-time operational workflows
• Lead a small team, drive delivery, stay accountable for what ships
• Set the standard for agentic engineering, including Claude Code workflows
• Partner with the Head of Engineering on technical strategy

• Around 5–8 years hands-on software engineering
• Already a lead or technical second in command, or an exceptional senior ready for it
• Deep Node.js and NestJS, alongside strong Python
• REST API, microservice and event-driven architecture experience
• Production cloud-native, ideally Google Cloud and Kubernetes
• PostgreSQL, MongoDB and vector systems such as Qdrant
• Daily use of Claude Code or equivalent agentic workflows
